Truth is, I don’t really want to put in the effort to do the things I know I should. Most people I know don’t. Then again, I don’t want to deal with the alternative either, living life as an unhealthy, unaware, unhappy person.
So, I’m going to find a way to exerise. I’m going to find a way to live with better food choices. I’m going to find a way to deal with my emotional/intellectual mess. And I’m going to keep a sense of humor through it all.
They say you only have to be good for 80 percent of the time to be healthy. I don’t know who they are, but even that 80 percent can be daunting as hell. And the other 20 more fun than it ought to be.
But this is my chronicle toward trying to get it right, at least 80 percent of the time. And I’ll try to share what I can so that you can do the same, if you want.
Look, we don’t want to put down the cookies, put on the running shoes, and read the latest news. We want to indulge in screwdrivers and Desperate Dancing Makeovers, because more often than not someone else’s fake reality is more interesting than our own.
But we can probably make our own realities at least as interesting, if not as well scripted. (Well, mine will be scripted–I’m a writer, and this is my reality show. ) Or at the very least, aim to be almost healthy.
It’s stillĀ better than floating on the other side of the spectrum…
But let’s not do more than we have to, okay?
